1. Salary and Package Stuff: Let's take an example you are working in an organisation as a Software Engineer, you are earning 6 Lac/Annum and having experience of 3 Years in IT. You cleared Accenture interview process (which is generally a cake walk). HR will extend an offer to you. HR will make every possible try to fool you. If you ask for Senior Software Engineer (SSE) Designation, HR will say as per company policy the minimum criterion for SSE is 3.5 Years so we cannot give you. If you ask for money, let’s say 25% hike, HR will say we cannot give that because it will be beyond their standards for a Software Engineer and they cannot go against the policy, but what we can do for you as an exception is that: we can give you the same package along with Joining Bonus which is 10% of Base (60,000) and 18% of variable pay. Variable pay will be payable 2 times (after 6 months). Variable pay also depends upon performance but Accenture is known for giving 100% variable pay to their employees without any deductions. After this most of the people become the prey of HR and join Accenture, but the truth is something different. Read point 2.
2. This is true that you will get joining bonus in the first month salary. But the variable pay will be give only 8% (not 18%) for 1 year. This is based on the default rating as per Accenture. No matter how good you perform, you are not going to get your 100% variable pay.
Example: Let's say you are eligible for 1 Lac Rs in 1 Year as your variable pay. You should be getting this in two parts 50,000 each (assuming you are a good performer and company is also performing well). You will be shocked to see not more than 24,000 Rs after 6 Months (you were expecting 50,000 Rs). This is company policy. HR will not tell you this at the time of joining. You will feel like cheated and surely disappointed.
3. You can find a SSE earning less than a SE and also some SSE earning more than a TL level person. Nothing at all standardised.
4. Promotions: Promotions solely depends upon your relation with your manager. Any similarity whatsoever with your good performance is purely coincidental. I have seen extremely good people having experience of 5.5 Years at SE level also. Such people are just prey of internal politics. I really feel sad for those chaps.
5. If you were on bench for some time, say 2 months, forget about variable pay. Continuing the above example you are not going to get more than 14,000 (in any case).
6. BEWARE: If you are joining Accenture Gurgaon just only for the Gurgaon location, then this is highly likely that you can soon be relocated mercilessly if you remain on bench for some time. They have all rights to force you. On the day of reporting (1st day in Accenture), they will make you sign a document that states this clause.
7. Notice Period: As you might be aware that the notice period has been increased to 90 Days. The same has been done for Infosys also. The good news is, if you are under probation period, you can get out of this mess in just 30 days. :)
8. Medical Policy for Parents: Only Employee, his wife and children are ensured. If you are a bachelor and your parents are dependent on you, then sorry, Accenture is not responsible for them. You have to purchase a medical policy for your parents.
9. Accenture doesn't believe in equality. Anybody less than Team Lead level is actually less than a human being. Let me give you one example: If you are at Team Lead level or above only then you will get Car Parking stickers. Below that level, please use company transport. You are not supposed to come by car. And if you prefer to come by bike, please note Accenture has very limited parking. If tokens are not available then wait outside under the sun till the time someone goes out.
Note: 1. I am talking about Accenture Gurgaon office, DDC2 (Near Signature Tower).
2. Accenture does not have first in first park policy as it may hurt some project managers and senior management people while waiting outside.
3. They do have sufficient space to accommodate at least thrice the available car parking (125 slots). But, Accenture is not willing to pay for the additional parking cost for their below TL level servants... oh sorry, employees.
Mind you, Accenture is a 21 Billion + $ revenue generating company.
10. Onsite Opportunities: Depends project to project, but due to huge internal politics, opportunities are limited to the near and dear employees of the project manager.
11. Non-Professional behaviour by the Project Managers and TL level people. North India is generally known for being very non professional and after joining Accenture Gurgaon, I get to know the reason behind such perception.
Example: Project Manager and TL level believes in oral work related communications (in hindi language, no english please kind of work environment) rather than written. But if you do any mistakes, they will not leave any chance to escalate the matter in written. They does not hesitate using Red colour while composing such mails. This is surely against business ethics.
12. No work from home facility. This facility in only reserved for Project Manager. So, please don't ask for laptops and VPN access. Sorry.
13. Spam Mails: Expect getting approx 25 spam mails from Accenture itself that does not have anything to do with you.
14. Stationary: This Company is so poor that it will not issue you a single pencil without an online ticket that you have to raise. They call themselves as an environment friendly company that is saving papers that employees used to fill to issue stationary material. I prefer using my own stationary rather than raising new tickets. This is exactly what they want.
15. This is very small thing but you are going to miss paper towels in washrooms. Again, the answer comes: we are environment friendly company so we do not provide paper towels in washrooms.
Whenever they want to save money, they say they are environment friendly. You decide.
16. Security: They don't leave any chance to harass their employees.
Security Check-1: The drama starts in the morning when you reach the barrier (just before the building, near the NH-8 highway). Some illiterate, ill-mannered security guards will welcome you and pretend to check your car by looking inside the car and will smash the boot door of your loving car. Goshh!!! what a bad feeling it is... You will fell like killing him, but you cannot do anything, sad.
Security Check-2: Once you cross the barrier, the same brutal treatment is waiting for your car again. Yes, another security check. Your car boot will be opened and smashed again without being looked at inside. They say they are checking for explosives. God knows how they determine without looking inside.
Security Check-3: Let’s move on, park your car. On the parking exit towards the lift, you will meet one more security guard who will ask you to show your carry bag/laptop bag etc. This guy is amazing; he will unzip and zip the bag without even looking into that.
Security Check-4: Once you reach your floor you will meet one more security guard that will again pretend to check your bags.
I would have been more than happy if they were actually doing a security check. The fact is they are just pretending do it, wasting your time and damaging your car. Believe me, nothing more than that.
17. Cafeteria: Everything is paid. Vendors are pathetic. You will feel regretted after spending your hard earned money on the pathetic food.
You will get lunch @ 45 Rs (full plate). It will be fixed quantity, no buffet system at all. Please do not dare asking for more, you will get a blunt/rude reply only.
If you are coming from a product based company, you are going to miss those luxuries and good behaviour of office boys.
18. Medical Facility: In papers, every day a doctor is available from 3PM to 5 PM on weekdays. But, at the most he/she comes 2 times in a week only.
19. No AC facility in cabs. Employees have to pay directly to the cab drivers if they wish AC to be turned on.
I feel pity for my fellow colleagues who come from Noida and surrounding areas in non-AC cabs in Summers of Northern India where the temperature touches 45 Degrees Celsius.
20. Dress Code: As in many service based companies, here also you have to follow the dress code. You need to wear formals (except Friday). On Fridays, you cannot wear round neck T-Shirts.
Your supervisor has all rights to fine you Rs 500 if found guilty for violating this "LAW" for the first time, if you are unlucky enough to be caught second time then you will be sent home and it will be considered as PTO (Paid Time Off). Awesome!
Also, you are not supposed to wear Shirt/T-shirt bearing any corporate logo other than Accenture logo. That means, even if you are coming from Microsoft, you cannot wear a T-Shirt/Shirt having Microsoft logo or its name.
21. Oops... I forgot to tell you about HR. Accenture HR people are the most useless people in the world. There is ZERO co-ordination between them. When your interview process is going on, believe me, nobody knows where the process actually is. They will literally call you and ask you, what all rounds have been done with you. Anybody will wake up and call you from their department. In my case, after getting the offer letter, one HR called me to schedule the technical interview. Can you believe this? They don't know if the candidate has already gone through the selection process or not. I spoke to 12 different HR people during my selection process. I am sure "each" Accenture employee will agree on this without exception.
22. Long working hours (8:30 AM to 6:30 PM). People using company transport has to follow these timings, others come late generally.
I hope these points are enough to open your eyes. Would that, I were knowing these things before joining Accenture, Gurgaon!!!

1. So my first point is the salary u are going to receive is very much highier than the salary of your colleagues with 3yrs exp!!! Only accenture pays you this much high salary!!
2. First 1 year they'll give you default rating no matter how good you are. since they have already given the salary corresponding to ur skill. also in accenture in default level also u'll get a 30% hike(as I got). Also I got 100%,105%,110% var pay last 3 times since the market is up. I know most of the companies wont give 100% var pay. My frnd in infy told most of the times they got half of the var pay
Accenture gives you what they have mentioned as ur package. Go and Calculate it. I am getting the exact amount what they mentioned as my package. Most of the company cut so many things and you'll not get 100% package. Accenture take home is higher than any other company. Also if ur frnds tell that PF, granuity etc their companies cut off more, ask them to calculate. I am sure they are not getting what the company mentioned in the offer letter.
Also accenture give you proj bonus(last proj i got 35000 for working 6 months in that proj) which is extra(not included in ur package), shift allowances which is far better than any other companies. we have shift allowances for all shifts 6am to 4pm, 12pm to 8pm no matter its day or night)
3. You can see in all companies these salary differences. That is depending on how many companies you changed and urs is a hot skill or not!! Not only here!!
4. There is no default promotions like other companies. Promotions really based on how good and smart you are. If you feel like its depends on ur manager go to ur DU lead and tell him your points. If you are correct, he'll definitely support you. But you should have some solid points like the certifications, assets you created, re-usable assets u have done in the proj etc. Dont tell them that you have done ur work on time. that everybody does. it will not make u different!! To live in accenture you should be compitative. if u sit simply you'll not get a good rating. Also if u r not satisfied with ur feedback u have a chance to discuss. I think this is same in all companies
5. There is no var pay if you sit idle on bench. But if you use that time to attend classroom trainings, online trainings you'll
have chargability. Even vacation is having chargability.
Do some trainings and you'll get variable pay. Aslo conduct interviews and trainings, no matter you are on bench you'll get good ratings and promotions. I know many ppl got promoted, on bench for 1 year, during recession since they have done all these.
6. I am in chennai, not sure abt gurgaon. But I read in news paper abt the lay off in wipro since the bench ppl are not ready for transfer. accenture is better than that right? also I have not accepted any project from any other locations and my bench supervisor told me that dont accept. so in chennai if i dont like a transfer they wont send me.
7. Notice period is 3 months and all other companies agree that. they are ready to wait for 3months. also u'll get the salary till u work the last day.. then whats the prob? Also if you have vacation balance ur notice period will be deducted!!
8.Medical Policy for Parents: Only Employee, his wife and children are ensured, this they changed last year. till that for everyone it was free. But you know in TCS, they'll charge for parents as well as spouse,kids and self. also in accenture they charge parents less compared to tcs!!! Again accenture is better!!
9. The 9th points is not here in chennai. we have a big parking lots. 3 floors. its enough for our employees. My proj mate who is an SE cmg in swift and he is getting free car park. not sure this is only in gurgoan or ur misunderstanding!! also in some other offices, they dont have a car park facility itself!!!!
10. Onsite I support you. There is very less onsite opportunities compared to tcs and all other companies. it was difficult to get onsite till last year. But if u get u'll get that place's employee salary. for eg, if u r going onsite to US, they'll consider u as US employee for that time and give you US employee salary. which is double than all other comp onsite salary. But now its changed. If you have 2 yrs exp at accenture you can tell ur DU that u r interested for onsite and they'll process ur visa. Again it depends how smart u r to find a proj abroad and clear the interview. Accenture gives you high onsite salary corresponding to ur level. most of the company give almost same package for all level!!
11. The non professional thing you can escalate here. Its same in all companies since accenture is not having permanent employees. Employees are cmg from some companies and going out to some companies. not our companies problem
12. I worked from home many days and nights :) its there. but depends on the situation. If everyone is working from home every
day no need of office right :)
13. These mails all companies are sending. Pls let me know which was ur last company? And dont tell ur DU that nothing to do with it. it has some useful info as well. I think just shift+deleting these mails is ur 1st prob!!
14. I wonder whether u r working for accenture!!! here we get all paper, pencil, pen,pins,notepad, stapler, gum etc by just giving our emp id and WBS element. After joining accenture i didnt get anything from outside!!

Now you need a/c on this. its toooooooo much!! all companies charging 1000bugs for cabs and for us its free. also in general shifts we dont have a/c cabs. since it'll start mrng and that time it'll not be so hot. also eve also not hot. In any other shifts, we have a/c cabs. no other company has free cabs in any other shifts except night shift returns!!! Be proud to be an accenturian!! adding to this we have already raised these a/c cab concer and its under consideration. soon we can expect that as well!!
20. Dress code is strict here and because of that I feel its a well mannered company. please tell me what you feel if ur supervisor comes with a round neck T shirt and some stupid writtings on that? Seriously speaking I dont respect for him!! thats why we have dress codes
21. Don't blame all HRs from ur experience. I was working in pune for 1,5yrs and there i felt HR is very strict for freshers.
But in chennai I got a very helpful HR. I can ask any silly questions to him and he is always there to help. its similar to all companies
22. Working ours is more than any other companies. In recession all companies cut down salaries and here they added 1 more hour.
I agree this with you. But you know working hours starts at 8.30 and I see most of the ppl cmg by 10.30. So in rules its 8.30 but nobody follows that. also accenture has a flexible work schedule. It just depends on u. if u r smart enough to complete ur work by 6 hrs u can leave. no one counts the swiping hrs!! so i feel here also its better than an 8hr company!!
By writing this much, I want to give you an advice. If you are not happy with some policies go and escalate them to
corresponding levels. they'll help you. still u r not satisfied go and change ur company rather than writing such spam messages in public forums!! Because of ur misunderstandings in a short span of time, it'll missguide other ppl as well. Also I tell you I met so many ppl they came back to accenture. They thought some other companies are better than accenture and they went there.
After some time they realised that they are wrong and came back.
Due to some personal reasons I maynot be able to continue here. But I want to be with accenture only. So I will come back some day or other!!! Proud to be an accentuarian!!!

I'm surprised to see so many negative comments about accenture! Nonetheless I can talk only about TCS as I worked there for close to 3 years. I'm resident of chennai, was transferred to Gurgaon after training. No one cares to ask ur location preference or role/skill preference. After being close to completing one year in the project asked for onsite which I wanted only after another 6 months time in project (another 6 months to groom me, if required). Denied! Asked for release only after another 3 months time (so that in 3 months I can train my replacement!). Denied! Tortured daily, false rumours were spread to malign my commitment for the company, Threatened by HR, got frustrated, lost sleep n left! End of story :P real story by the way! Then I Joined HCL Technologies - Fantastic company, Fantastic people. Loving every minute spent here. I feel as if I have come out of Jail!

If you are placed in accenture,i can tell you that its 100% sure that you can join the firm within 4 months..

1. Salary and Package Stuff: Let's take an example you are working in an organisation as a Software Engineer, you are earning 6 Lac/Annum and having experience of 3 Years in IT. You cleared Accenture interview process (which is generally a cake walk). HR will extend an offer to you. HR will make every possible try to fool you. If you ask for Senior Software Engineer (SSE) Designation, HR will say as per company policy the minimum criterion for SSE is 3.5 Years so we cannot give you. Variable pay will be payable 2 times (after 6 months). Variable pay also depends upon performance but Accenture is known for giving 100% variable pay to their employees without any deductions. 2. This is true that you will get joining bonus in the first month salary. But the variable pay will be give only 8% (not 18%) for 1 year. This is based on the default rating as per Accenture. No matter how good you perform, you are not going to get your 100% variable pay.
Example: Let's say you are eligible for 1 Lac Rs in 1 Year as your variable pay. You should be getting this in two parts 50,000 each (assuming you are a good performer and company is also performing well). You will be shocked to see not more than 24,000 Rs after 6 Months (you were expecting 50,000 Rs). This is company policy. HR will not tell you this at the time of joining. You will feel like cheated and surely disappointed.
3. You can find a SSE earning less than a SE and also some SSE earning more than a TL level person. Nothing at all standardised.
4. Promotions: Promotions solely depends upon your relation with your manager. Any similarity whatsoever with your good performance is purely coincidental. I have seen extremely good people having experience of 5.5 Years at SE level also. Such people are just prey of internal politics. I really feel sad for those chaps.
5. If you were on bench for some time, say 2 months, forget about variable pay. Continuing the above example you are not going to get more than 14,000 (in any case).
6. BEWARE: If you are joining Accenture, then this is highly likely that you can soon be relocated mercilessly if you remain on bench for some time. They have all rights to force you. On the day of reporting (1st day in Accenture), they will make you sign a document that states this clause.
7. Notice Period: As you might be aware that the notice period has been increased to 90 Days. The same has been done for Infosys also. The good news is, if you are under probation period, you can get out of this mess in just 30 days. :)
8. Medical Policy for Parents: Only Employee, his wife and children are Insured. If you are a bachelor and your parents are dependent on you, then sorry, Accenture is not responsible for them. You have to purchase a medical policy for your parents.
9. Accenture doesn't believe in equality. Anybody less than Team Lead level is actually less than a human being. Let me give you one example: If you are at Team Lead level or above only then you will get Car Parking stickers. Below that level, please use company transport. You are not supposed to come by car. And if you prefer to come by bike, please note Accenture has very limited parking. If tokens are not available then wait outside under the sun till the time someone goes out.
10. Onsite Opportunities: Depends project to project, but due to huge internal politics, opportunities are limited to the near and dear employees of the project manager.
11. Non-Professional behaviour by the Project Managers and TL level people. India is generally known for being very non professional and after joining Accenture, I get to know the reason behind such perception.
Example: Project Manager and TL level believes in oral work related communications (in hindi language, no english please kind of work environment) rather than written. But if you do any mistakes, they will not leave any chance to escalate the matter in written. They does not hesitate using Red colour while composing such mails. This is surely against business ethics.
12. No work from home facility. This facility in only reserved for Project Manager. So, please don't ask for laptops and VPN access. Sorry.
13. Spam Mails: Expect getting approx 25 spam mails from Accenture itself that does not have anything to do with you.
14. Stationary: This Company is so poor that it will not issue you a single pencil without an online ticket that you have to raise. They call themselves as an environment friendly company that is saving papers that employees used to fill to issue stationary material. I prefer using my own stationary rather than raising new tickets. This is exactly what they want.
15. This is very small thing but you are going to miss paper towels in washrooms. Again, the answer comes: we are environment friendly company so we do not provide paper towels in washrooms.
Whenever they want to save money, they say they are environment friendly. You decide.
16. Security: They don't leave any chance to harass their employees.
Security Check-1: The drama starts in the morning when you reach the barrier (just before the building, near the NH-8 highway. Some illiterate, ill-mannered security guards will welcome you and pretend to check your car by looking inside the car and will smash the boot door of your loving car. Goshh!!! what a bad feeling it is... You will fell like killing him, but you cannot do anything, sad.
Security Check-2: Once you cross the barrier, the same brutal treatment is waiting for your car again. Yes, another security check. Your car boot will be opened and smashed again without being looked at inside. They say they are checking for explosives. God knows how they determine without looking inside.
Security Check-3: Let’s move on, park your car. On the parking exit towards the lift, you will meet one more security guard who will ask you to show your carry bag/laptop bag etc. This guy is amazing; he will unzip and zip the bag without even looking into that.
Security Check-4: Once you reach your floor you will meet one more security guard that will again pretend to check your bags.
I would have been more than happy if they were actually doing a security check. The fact is they are just pretending do it, wasting your time and damaging your car. Believe me, nothing more than that.
17. Cafeteria: Everything is paid. Vendors are pathetic. You will feel regretted after spending your hard earned money on the pathetic food.
You will get lunch @ 45 Rs (full plate). It will be fixed quantity, no buffet system at all. Please do not dare asking for more, you will get a blunt/rude reply only.
If you are coming from a product based company, you are going to miss those luxuries and good behaviour of office boys.
18. Medical Facility: In papers, every day a doctor is available from 3PM to 5 PM on weekdays. But, at the most he/she comes 2 times in a week only.
19. No AC facility in cabs. Employees have to pay directly to the cab drivers if they wish AC to be turned on.
20. Dress Code: As in many service based companies, here also you have to follow the dress code. You need to wear formals (except Friday). On Fridays, you cannot wear round neck T-Shirts.
Your supervisor has all rights to fine you Rs 500 if found guilty for violating this "LAW" for the first time, if you are unlucky enough to be caught second time then you will be sent home and it will be considered as PTO (Paid Time Off). Awesome!
Also, you are not supposed to wear Shirt/T-shirt bearing any corporate logo other than Accenture logo. That means, even if you are coming from Microsoft, you cannot wear a T-Shirt/Shirt having Microsoft logo or its name.
21. Oops... I forgot to tell you about HR. Accenture HR people are the most useless people in the world. There is ZERO co-ordination between them. When your interview process is going on, believe me, nobody knows where the process actually is. They will literally call you and ask you, what all rounds have been done with you. Anybody will wake up and call you from their department. In my case, after getting the offer letter, one HR called me to schedule the technical interview. Can you believe this? They don't know if the candidate has already gone through the selection process or not. I spoke to 12 different HR people during my selection process. I am sure "each" Accenture employee will agree on this without exception.
22. Long working hours (8:30 AM to 6:30 PM). People using company transport has to follow these timings, others come late generally.

Join TCS if one has around 10+ years of experience and wants to relax a bit else it would be better to join IBM or Accenture. The work culture in TCS is little better than most other IT companies in India but the project quality is not good. As a fresher or a person with less experience one may not develop technically in TCS as most are support kind of a project. Even the variable pay is too high.
TCS / IBM/ Infy/ CTS/ Wipro/HCL has good onsites opportunities compared to other companies like Accenture, Capgemini… but those good old days might not last long as visa norms are getting stricter day by day. In IBM or Accenture the project quality is good and one can develop their technical skills better.
On a personal note, I would suggest working with Deloitte/ PWC any day.

i worked with wipro for 4 years. now i working for accenture for one year. this is a fact that accenture is adept at playing dirty games with customers and employees. i am already sent in my resignation a week ago. as all of u know friends, in india u have to give 90 days as resignation notice. now accenture is harassing every day for my decision. i know the next 3 months are going to be hell....but what to do??? please readers......be very careful of this torture company. i request all customers and freshers to do their homework carefully before taking any decision.

I joined CTS as fresher in blore and worked for around 3.5yrs and then joined a small company here. I am again looking for a change and has got IBM services, Accenture, infy in hand.
When i was in CTS, i was never happy with its compensation. was always blaming the company and its policies. but let me tell you, after leaving the company and doing lots of R&D on other companies, I can say Cogni was very much better than any service company mentioned here. as they say :- the grass is always green on the other side, CTS gave lots of opportunities, learning and onsite. they ve got very flexible policies. no one couts check in check out time, u dont have to even come to office if you are in bench. work timings are flexible. your mgr does not bother you for coming late as long as you finish your work on time. ppl are very friendly. great onsite(i went twice on short ter to US when i was 3yrs exp).felt even the pay is as good as any other IT service companies(if not more). The best part, they never cheat with the variable pay. if they say 40K is your variable, you are atleast assured of around 50K as your varialbe(it might go to 80K for top performers). Really repenting the day I quite Cogni.
BTW do not understand this unprofessional nature of Accenture : I cleared their interview around 1.5 months back. after two weeks they asked me to send all the docs soft copy. and then there is abolutely no reply from them. and I got to know that accenture does lot of this thing. if we call us, they say there are not many opening for your skillset in your location. I dont understand why did they conduct the interview then.

1) Don't join Accenture IDC if ur not from Bhramin community. Most of the senior executives (80%) and senior managers are from that community and they will support you only if ur from that community.
2) HRs are just PA to Senior managers and Senior executives.
3) Sexual harassment is very high. I know many female resource left Accenture because of this reason.
4) I don't have experience with TCS or IBM but, other than Accenture HR no one will ask proof for sexual harassment. (you should have mail proof, of Video proof). Accenture HR and Senior executives or Senior managers don't have time to attend such issues.
5) Most of the senior executives and managers in IDC chennai are dirty politicians.
6) In Accenture it is easy to get appreciation if your from good community no need to prove ur skills.
7) I agree very few senior executives are also in the same Accenture but they don't have power or they don't want to involve in such politics.
8) The above points are from my own experience.
9) Don't join Accenture if your not good in dirty politics.
