I enjoyed working at Accenture. One will understand brand value only if you are abroad. People pay more respect at Accenture than other Indian companies while working abroad. In India all Indian Companies including IBM , accenture are all more less same. It is project manager dependent.

@Arnab ... I agree. May be Accenture in abroad is awesome. But in India it sucks. Moreover there is very very less onsite opportunities in Accenture India. The reason being Accenture has a global presence. Client interaction is done by the Accenture team abroad. Most of the functional design is done by them. Eg Accenture,Paris if its a French Client. So only the coding work is outsourced to Accenture India in most of the Application Outsourcing projects. And no need to send people from to India to the client place.

I have worked for IBM and TCS. IBM is far better than TCS. IBM is aggresive in achieving goals and has very good market presence. Brand name is no doubt far better than TCS. TCS is lazy peoples company. It works in a public sector undertaking king of environment. Lot of outsourced support projects. TCS is always ready to pick any of the scrap project. For me learning means having expertise on the technology. TCS defines learning as doing capsule courses (internal sessions) and certifications. TCS don't allow people to groom in respective technology. People are simply headcounts for them and not assets.

KISS MY ASS ACCENTURE ! Its amazing how this IT consultancy has managed to survive in the industry. It is a big scam. Not only they scam the clients but also their own employees. No wonder the staff has a turn over rate of 1-6 months ! To all Accenture share holders – Sell now before the company collapses because of the sheer weight of law suits against them. Law suits risen from immigration scams, client budget scams, employee abuse etc. I wasted the few years that I spent there. I wish I had moved out of the company much earlier. The only thing that stopped me was the Global Financial Meltdown. Now that I am out of the sh1tty company, feel like a cross has been lifted from my shoulders. Accenture should be tried in International Court of Justice for crime against humanity.

Yes there has been quite a few comments on the net against Accenture’s core values. I just quit yesterday. Its the most wise thing I have done in my life. Its disgusting to experience and observe the horror unfolding in the company. Its just a matter of time when ACN will become another Blue-chip company loosing its clothes in public because of bad corporate practises. To those who are researching the company before you join them : These days having Accenture experience goes against you in the industry as the entire Tech services sector considers Accenture work culture to be appalling. They worked hard to prove to their team. Its a crime that they will be exploited beyond moral concisions. To all potential employees and existing employees – If you want to join Accenture…think a million times. You will never get back the time you lost with Accenture. The feeling at the end of your life with Accenture is of bitterness as you would have been used and thrown like a condom. And to all existing employees of Accenture – Please leave now. There is a great life out there. Do not be scared of not getting another job. You will be so surprised that it is very much possible to land with a better job that’s a million times more rewarding and professional than Assventure. Your happiness is more important than ass licking your seniors. Have a soul and live a life. Make sure you take all the trainings, annual leaves, maternity leave etc just before you leave this inhuman gangster organisation.

I worked for 8yrs in Accenture India. I do agree once upon a time ACN was a much better choice than any other Indian company including IBM, EDS, Delloitte etc. But now it's all the same rather I would rate worst than others. In simple words the Accenture India middle management is best of worst from IT industry in India. The top managment is very good but lot of politics there too. In US, yes it's a good brand name but it's loosing it's charm very fast. Over all it's good platform to lunch your career but don't go too far with them. There are much better places arround.

I must say that I agree with most of the people here.I have been working with Accenture and my experience says that people with no brains and a bulls!@t attitude are the ones who get all the good things there.If you know how to lick your lead's ass,you are surely going to enjoy.People with no managerial skills(forget tachnical skills) are the ones who are lead levels.If a lead does not favours the person,no matter what you do,you will never get any benefit.You are like just another dog roaming on the road there.Its just a pathertic feeling working here.Soon I am gonaa move out.I wish all like minded people move out rather than wasting their time in Accenture.There is hardly onshore oppurtunities,less hike,office politics,sick policies and dirty wrkng environment.Wish to see the day when this company just sees the end of its day.

I am an ex accenture from consulting field in Australia.answer to ur 1st qus - its good. u will learn how to use HR SAP module. this will help u in future in a core HR role as most places now has SAP HR. 2]outsourcing stream in accenture is different. it is more of a solutions background. the only thing with outsourcing stream is you dont get much training and no travelling.3] MBA is seldom considered, the important factor is not the degree but the value u add to that role. all depends on ur rappo. most of the things I have said is from Australia perspective. I have worked in TCS-Gurgoan for 2 and half year then switched to Accenture Bangalore. As per my experience, TCS was far better than Accenture. In Accentute, full of politics n company does not think about employee. In Tcs also same thing, but stll you will manage with people, policies however in Accenture they sucks. Without reason they will apply stupid policies and work that you never wanted to do. No skills set no proper guidence.

I dunno @ TCS and Infy but Accenture definitely sucks BIGTYM!! I know because I have worked there.If you join as a fresh graduate they will put u in any field they like e.g. testing,mainframes etc without any f$%king consideration of your preference or intellectual ability! And just like that ur whole career path(atleast in accenture)is decided(its pretty difficult to change streams)! The HR there suck(they are totally in the project managements hands)- trust me even if you have a genuine concern regarding your supervisor etc they will simply not even listen to you...work /life balance is simply non existent there, in the India delivery centers its very common for people to work for 12 hours per day without any extra pay at all, similarly you are expected to work on weekends without any overtime payed to you. They have a rule wherein each year the employees have to finish x hrs(80 i guess) in classroom training and most of the time the project management will force you to attend these trainings too on weekends-y keep the bloody trainings then!! Their pay sucks and the concept of variable pay is utter crap!! Being an american company they don't give leaves on many religious festivals which other IT firms and all other institutions in India do but neither do they give u leaves on american festivals - neither here nor there attitude!! If u happen to be on a project you want a roll-off from the management will trouble you like hell, will simply not let u go and it could be a good 4 months before they finally give u the damn roll-off! In short crappy company, crappy lying s!@tting management!! If all companies out there are like accenture am so quitting the IT world!!!

Joining Accenture Gurgaon was my biggest mistake in life. Review: 1. Salary and Package Stuff: Let's take an example you are working in an organisation as a Software Engineer, you are earning 6 Lac/Annum and having experience of 3 Years in IT. You cleared Accenture interview process (which is generally a cake walk). HR will extend an offer to you. HR will make every possible try to fool you. If you ask for Senior Software Engineer (SSE) Designation, HR will say as per company policy the minimum criterion for SSE is 3.5 Years so we cannot give you. If you ask for money, let’s say 25% hike, HR will say we cannot give that because it will be beyond their standards for a Software Engineer and they cannot go against the policy, but what we can do for you as an exception is that: we can give you the same package along with Joining Bonus which is 10% of Base (60,000) and 18% of variable pay. Variable pay will be payable 2 times (after 6 months). Variable pay also depends upon performance but Accenture is known for giving 100% variable pay to their employees without any deductions. After this most of the people become the prey of HR and join Accenture, but the truth is something different. Read point 2. 2. This is true that you will get joining bonus in the first month salary. But the variable pay will be give only 8% (not 18%) for 1 year. This is based on the default rating as per Accenture. No matter how good you perform, you are not going to get your 100% variable pay. Example: Let's say you are eligible for 1 Lac Rs in 1 Year as your variable pay. You should be getting this in two parts 50,000 each (assuming you are a good performer and company is also performing well). You will be shocked to see not more than 24,000 Rs after 6 Months (you were expecting 50,000 Rs). This is company policy. HR will not tell you this at the time of joining. You will feel like cheated and surely disappointed. 3. You can find a SSE earning less than a SE and also some SSE earning more than a TL level person. Nothing at all standardised. 4. Promotions: Promotions solely depends upon your relation with your manager. Any similarity whatsoever with your good performance is purely coincidental. I have seen extremely good people having experience of 5.5 Years at SE level also. Such people are just prey of internal politics. I really feel sad for those chaps. 5. If you were on bench for some time, say 2 months, forget about variable pay. Continuing the above example you are not going to get more than 14,000 (in any case). 6. BEWARE: If you are joining Accenture Gurgaon just only for the Gurgaon location, then this is highly likely that you can soon be relocated mercilessly if you remain on bench for some time. They have all rights to force you. On the day of reporting (1st day in Accenture), they will make you sign a document that states this clause. 7. Notice Period: As you might be aware that the notice period has been increased to 90 Days. The same has been done for Infosys also. The good news is, if you are under probation period, you can get out of this mess in just 30 days. :) 8. Medical Policy for Parents: Only Employee, his wife and children are ensured. If you are a bachelor and your parents are dependent on you, then sorry, Accenture is not responsible for them. You have to purchase a medical policy for your parents. 9. Accenture doesn't believe in equality. Anybody less than Team Lead level is actually less than a human being. Let me give you one example: If you are at Team Lead level or above only then you will get Car Parking stickers. Below that level, please use company transport. You are not supposed to come by car. And if you prefer to come by bike, please note Accenture has very limited parking. If tokens are not available then wait outside under the sun till the time someone goes out. Note: 1. I am talking about Accenture Gurgaon office, DDC2 (Near Signature Tower). 2. Accenture does not have first in first park policy as it may hurt some project managers and senior management people while waiting outside. 3. They do have sufficient space to accommodate at least thrice the available car parking (125 slots). But, Accenture is not willing to pay for the additional parking cost for their below TL level servants... oh sorry, employees. Mind you, Accenture is a 21 Billion + $ revenue generating company. 10. Onsite Opportunities: Depends project to project, but due to huge internal politics, opportunities are limited to the near and dear employees of the project manager. 11. Non-Professional behaviour by the Project Managers and TL level people. North India is generally known for being very non professional and after joining Accenture Gurgaon, I get to know the reason behind such perception. Example: Project Manager and TL level believes in oral work related communications (in hindi language, no english please kind of work environment) rather than written. But if you do any mistakes, they will not leave any chance to escalate the matter in written. They does not hesitate using Red colour while composing such mails. This is surely against business ethics. 12. No work from home facility. This facility in only reserved for Project Manager. So, please don't ask for laptops and VPN access. Sorry. 13. Spam Mails: Expect getting approx 25 spam mails from Accenture itself that does not have anything to do with you. 14. Stationary: This Company is so poor that it will not issue you a single pencil without an online ticket that you have to raise. They call themselves as an environment friendly company that is saving papers that employees used to fill to issue stationary material. I prefer using my own stationary rather than raising new tickets. This is exactly what they want. 15. This is very small thing but you are going to miss paper towels in washrooms. Again, the answer comes: we are environment friendly company so we do not provide paper towels in washrooms. Whenever they want to save money, they say they are environment friendly. You decide. 16. Security: They don't leave any chance to harass their employees. Security Check-1: The drama starts in the morning when you reach the barrier (just before the building, near the NH-8 highway). Some illiterate, ill-mannered security guards will welcome you and pretend to check your car by looking inside the car and will smash the boot door of your loving car. Goshh!!! what a bad feeling it is... You will fell like killing him, but you cannot do anything, sad. Security Check-2: Once you cross the barrier, the same brutal treatment is waiting for your car again. Yes, another security check. Your car boot will be opened and smashed again without being looked at inside. They say they are checking for explosives. God knows how they determine without looking inside. Security Check-3: Let’s move on, park your car. On the parking exit towards the lift, you will meet one more security guard who will ask you to show your carry bag/laptop bag etc. This guy is amazing; he will unzip and zip the bag without even looking into that. Security Check-4: Once you reach your floor you will meet one more security guard that will again pretend to check your bags. I would have been more than happy if they were actually doing a security check. The fact is they are just pretending do it, wasting your time and damaging your car. Believe me, nothing more than that. 17. Cafeteria: Everything is paid. Vendors are pathetic. You will feel regretted after spending your hard earned money on the pathetic food. You will get lunch @ 45 Rs (full plate). It will be fixed quantity, no buffet system at all. Please do not dare asking for more, you will get a blunt/rude reply only. If you are coming from a product based company, you are going to miss those luxuries and good behaviour of office boys. 18. Medical Facility: In papers, every day a doctor is available from 3PM to 5 PM on weekdays. But, at the most he/she comes 2 times in a week only. 19. No AC facility in cabs. Employees have to pay directly to the cab drivers if they wish AC to be turned on. I feel pity for my fellow colleagues who come from Noida and surrounding areas in non-AC cabs in Summers of Northern India where the temperature touches 45 Degrees Celsius. 20. Dress Code: As in many service based companies, here also you have to follow the dress code. You need to wear formals (except Friday). On Fridays, you cannot wear round neck T-Shirts. Your supervisor has all rights to fine you Rs 500 if found guilty for violating this "LAW" for the first time, if you are unlucky enough to be caught second time then you will be sent home and it will be considered as PTO (Paid Time Off). Awesome! Also, you are not supposed to wear Shirt/T-shirt bearing any corporate logo other than Accenture logo. That means, even if you are coming from Microsoft, you cannot wear a T-Shirt/Shirt having Microsoft logo or its name. 21. Oops... I forgot to tell you about HR. Accenture HR people are the most useless people in the world. There is ZERO co-ordination between them. When your interview process is going on, believe me, nobody knows where the process actually is. They will literally call you and ask you, what all rounds have been done with you. Anybody will wake up and call you from their department. In my case, after getting the offer letter, one HR called me to schedule the technical interview. Can you believe this? They don't know if the candidate has already gone through the selection process or not. I spoke to 12 different HR people during my selection process. I am sure "each" Accenture employee will agree on this without exception. 22. Long working hours (8:30 AM to 6:30 PM). People using company transport has to follow these timings, others come late generally. I hope these points are enough to open your eyes. Would that, I were knowing these things before joining Accenture, Gurgaon!!!

Yes, Venk was right. TCS is the best place to work in from all the perspectives. The employees are treated very courteously and the pressure is unlike other MNC'S. Talent and skill gives the rewards in TCS, if we expose our talent in the right way surely there will be good hike and promotion. I heard from one of my room mates about the amount of torture and pressure exerted on the trainees and employees in Infy.

Hi Guys..read all these comments and felt like addming my opinion too.I am with acccenture and a part of the consulting practice.i would say its an OK company to work for..as far as the office politics goes,i agree to that..there is a lot of office politics here..but this is something that is comman across all indian companies/india offices of multinational companies !! Now the work/onsite part...this i would say is dependent 100% on your luck..all companies tcs,infy,accenture etc have onsite opportunities but then in none of the project all team members travel !! it depends on the skill/luck..i would count favouratizm under luck hehehe. So in a snap shot...it all depends on your personal goals and luck i wont say i m happy to be in accenture..as things didnt really work out for me the way i wanted..but the it has worked for some of the guys who joined with me..so its best to dig deep when u have an offer...ask about the project...the work..and offcourse the pay...if u r satisfied about the answers to these three..join any one...all three are big brands... cheers..

I had joined accenture in july 2010. So far What i felt that accenture is good company though the salary is less than TCS and INFY but work culture is good. My friends in INFY say that they have very bad HR policies for the freshers almost on every thing there is fine even on the shoes you wear.In TCS most of the people are still on bench and are frustrated like any thing. Though in accenture gives u lots of work but there is learning which is essential for ones growth. Over all i think accenture is not as bad as mentioned above. There is politics too but i think this is present in TCS and INFY people say its professional world but IT is completely unprofessional.

I am very much aware of accenture policies since I joined as a fresher and all my proj mates always ask doubts to me regarding all these policies. Being an accentuarian I cant wait for writing reply for such a stupid message. Also i am aware of tcs policies since my hubby is there last 8 yrs. Accenture is not a product based company. How many companies you know in india it will give you more than 7.5lakhs salary for a 3 year exp person? Doesnt matter how hot ur skill is? except google,yahoo or SAP? You know right it is not easy as accenture to clear such companies interviews!! for highly skilled ppl only these companies give high salary. 1. So my first point is the salary u are going to receive is very much highier than the salary of your colleagues with 3yrs exp!!! Only accenture pays you this much high salary!! 2. First 1 year they'll give you default rating no matter how good you are. since they have already given the salary corresponding to ur skill. also in accenture in default level also u'll get a 30% hike(as I got). Also I got 100%,105%,110% var pay last 3 times since the market is up. I know most of the companies wont give 100% var pay. My frnd in infy told most of the times they got half of the var pay Accenture gives you what they have mentioned as ur package. Go and Calculate it. I am getting the exact amount what they mentioned as my package. Most of the company cut so many things and you'll not get 100% package. Accenture take home is higher than any other company. Also if ur frnds tell that PF, granuity etc their companies cut off more, ask them to calculate. I am sure they are not getting what the company mentioned in the offer letter. Also accenture give you proj bonus(last proj i got 35000 for working 6 months in that proj) which is extra(not included in ur package), shift allowances which is far better than any other companies. we have shift allowances for all shifts 6am to 4pm, 12pm to 8pm no matter its day or night) 3. You can see in all companies these salary differences. That is depending on how many companies you changed and urs is a hot skill or not!! Not only here!! 4. There is no default promotions like other companies. Promotions really based on how good and smart you are. If you feel like its depends on ur manager go to ur DU lead and tell him your points. If you are correct, he'll definitely support you. But you should have some solid points like the certifications, assets you created, re-usable assets u have done in the proj etc. Dont tell them that you have done ur work on time. that everybody does. it will not make u different!! To live in accenture you should be compitative. if u sit simply you'll not get a good rating. Also if u r not satisfied with ur feedback u have a chance to discuss. I think this is same in all companies 5. There is no var pay if you sit idle on bench. But if you use that time to attend classroom trainings, online trainings you'll have chargability. Even vacation is having chargability. Do some trainings and you'll get variable pay. Aslo conduct interviews and trainings, no matter you are on bench you'll get good ratings and promotions. I know many ppl got promoted, on bench for 1 year, during recession since they have done all these. 6. I am in chennai, not sure abt gurgaon. But I read in news paper abt the lay off in wipro since the bench ppl are not ready for transfer. accenture is better than that right? also I have not accepted any project from any other locations and my bench supervisor told me that dont accept. so in chennai if i dont like a transfer they wont send me. 7. Notice period is 3 months and all other companies agree that. they are ready to wait for 3months. also u'll get the salary till u work the last day.. then whats the prob? Also if you have vacation balance ur notice period will be deducted!! 8.Medical Policy for Parents: Only Employee, his wife and children are ensured, this they changed last year. till that for everyone it was free. But you know in TCS, they'll charge for parents as well as spouse,kids and self. also in accenture they charge parents less compared to tcs!!! Again accenture is better!! 9. The 9th points is not here in chennai. we have a big parking lots. 3 floors. its enough for our employees. My proj mate who is an SE cmg in swift and he is getting free car park. not sure this is only in gurgoan or ur misunderstanding!! also in some other offices, they dont have a car park facility itself!!!! 10. Onsite I support you. There is very less onsite opportunities compared to tcs and all other companies. it was difficult to get onsite till last year. But if u get u'll get that place's employee salary. for eg, if u r going onsite to US, they'll consider u as US employee for that time and give you US employee salary. which is double than all other comp onsite salary. But now its changed. If you have 2 yrs exp at accenture you can tell ur DU that u r interested for onsite and they'll process ur visa. Again it depends how smart u r to find a proj abroad and clear the interview. Accenture gives you high onsite salary corresponding to ur level. most of the company give almost same package for all level!! 11. The non professional thing you can escalate here. Its same in all companies since accenture is not having permanent employees. Employees are cmg from some companies and going out to some companies. not our companies problem 12. I worked from home many days and nights :) its there. but depends on the situation. If everyone is working from home every day no need of office right :) 13. These mails all companies are sending. Pls let me know which was ur last company? And dont tell ur DU that nothing to do with it. it has some useful info as well. I think just shift+deleting these mails is ur 1st prob!! 14. I wonder whether u r working for accenture!!! here we get all paper, pencil, pen,pins,notepad, stapler, gum etc by just giving our emp id and WBS element. After joining accenture i didnt get anything from outside!! 15. I think toilet tissues are eco frndly :) 16. Security. You can complaint in F&S that these ppl are not doing their job well. Security is needed for our job type 17. Regarding food u can send mail to F&S ccing ur DU. they'll take action. I have experienced!! 18. Medical facility: You know its not there in all other companies. for us we have a free doctor everyday and I have used this facility manytimes. feels so lucky to be here. 19. I feel ashamed when I read this. Our cabs are free. No other company is providing free cabs and pick ups and drops are every where. Now you need a/c on this. its toooooooo much!! all companies charging 1000bugs for cabs and for us its free. also in general shifts we dont have a/c cabs. since it'll start mrng and that time it'll not be so hot. also eve also not hot. In any other shifts, we have a/c cabs. no other company has free cabs in any other shifts except night shift returns!!! Be proud to be an accenturian!! adding to this we have already raised these a/c cab concer and its under consideration. soon we can expect that as well!! 20. Dress code is strict here and because of that I feel its a well mannered company. please tell me what you feel if ur supervisor comes with a round neck T shirt and some stupid writtings on that? Seriously speaking I dont respect for him!! thats why we have dress codes 21. Don't blame all HRs from ur experience. I was working in pune for 1,5yrs and there i felt HR is very strict for freshers. But in chennai I got a very helpful HR. I can ask any silly questions to him and he is always there to help. its similar to all companies 22. Working ours is more than any other companies. In recession all companies cut down salaries and here they added 1 more hour. I agree this with you. But you know working hours starts at 8.30 and I see most of the ppl cmg by 10.30. So in rules its 8.30 but nobody follows that. also accenture has a flexible work schedule. It just depends on u. if u r smart enough to complete ur work by 6 hrs u can leave. no one counts the swiping hrs!! so i feel here also its better than an 8hr company!! By writing this much, I want to give you an advice. If you are not happy with some policies go and escalate them to corresponding levels. they'll help you. still u r not satisfied go and change ur company rather than writing such spam messages in public forums!! Because of ur misunderstandings in a short span of time, it'll missguide other ppl as well. Also I tell you I met so many ppl they came back to accenture. They thought some other companies are better than accenture and they went there. After some time they realised that they are wrong and came back. I have worked with Infy and am with Sapient now.Its true Infy's policies are annoying at times.But It has its own place.Its the best place to work if you join as a fresher or as a tech lead or project manager,that is after 6 yrs of IT.It is fascinating.Sapient is amazing.Good pay ,very flexible , no hard written rules.Its nice!There are not many policies at all which is again annoying because sometimes things are not organised,but still I luv both the companies.

Well My experience at accenture has been awesome. 1 : Its got an awesome culture. The trend, the policies and everything is the best. A CMMI Level 5 company stands above the crowd 2: Performance rating is adhered with the metrics of merit and this is evaluated by not only your supervisor(ones who can provide or deny favourism) but also with external SME's so no chance of politics in performance eval 3. Accenture gives hikes from 30% to even 50% internally if the person has really performed well and have got a promotion. Thats a big amount. So all those saying accenture sucks. First ask yourselves how loyal have you been to your work and how good did you perform. Its an organization and people will get paid only if they perform. Its not a charity firm so guys get a life.

I'm surprised to see so many negative comments about accenture! Nonetheless I can talk only about TCS as I worked there for close to 3 years. I'm resident of chennai, was transferred to Gurgaon after training. No one cares to ask ur location preference or role/skill preference. After an year due to personal probs I was desperate to come back to Chennai... begged, pleaded but no one cared... policy says I have to be in that location for 2 years atleast! used some influential people and I was transferred immediately to Chennai (typical government style set up eh! what happened to the @%^#*&^ policy?). Worked day n night in this new project (no extra pay, no free food etc), knew/did lot more than experienced peers (I guess everyone says this same crap that he did more :P). After being close to completing one year in the project asked for onsite which I wanted only after another 6 months time in project (another 6 months to groom me, if required). Denied! Asked for release only after another 3 months time (so that in 3 months I can train my replacement!). Denied! Tortured daily, false rumours were spread to malign my commitment for the company, Threatened by HR, got frustrated, lost sleep n left! End of story :P real story by the way! Then I Joined HCL Technologies - Fantastic company, Fantastic people. Loving every minute spent here. I feel as if I have come out of Jail!

But as soon as you join it they will start pushing you to go to other locations. You dare to deny, they will issue refusal warning letter(which they say 3 letters mean termination). I got an offer from Infosys and Wipro as well. More choice you have more confused you are. I am exactly going through the same phase. I have a team leader offer from both the companies and salary offered is more or less the same. Now, I am not sure what do I do. People have mixed opinion. I just thought if People of Infosys can help me answer this question. By the way, I have posted the same question under Wipro as well. Hopefully Infosys and Wipro answers will help me resolve this issue.

@Vipul -- Vipul you are right, every IT company sucks. I pity people working in the IT Sector. I reckon they are mere bonded labourers, have no family and no weekends. LOL ;)

Dudes: which ever company pays the highest is good. What you want eventually at the End of the day when you come home after the day's job is what is most important. Frustation is implied as we ourselves don't know what we want. Just because our manager is bad or the peers play politics cannot be a true criteria for saying that the company is good or bad. Being selfish is bad, socially, but not professionally.

Accenture is the best place to work.. @Sweety: Accenture offers a annual package of 3 lpa, where Infy offers 3.5. But the fact is that during training period Infy offers only half of the monthly sal and the training duration is for 6 months. By this tym span, an accenturian will earn more than that of an Infian.. I feel very comfortable to work for accenture and the brand value associated is very high. Its core values are the best in the world and is strictly folowed.People here are very friendly which truly highlights the core values. So make a good choice, hoping to c u in ACCENTURE

I joined accenture as a fresher.For the first time to a corporate world, accenture provided a homely and friendly atmosphere.From the very first day ,till this moment my life in accenture is cool... The work atmosphere is so good.. And the respect to individuals,being an ASE i have experienced the same when i met with certain problems within my project.My team strongly supported me .. The pay sceale is so good when compared to TCS and INFI. Accenture offers a good transport connectivity,which is very safe and secure,No extra pay is required for it.Its entirely free of cost.I don think ny other MNC is offering the service as a free f cost... I am really proud to say that I am an accenturian... I have seen so many friends regretting for not joning the accenture.. The job security is very high when compared to other MNCs.Accenture recruited about 20000 employees in this financial year and all of them are provided with a joining date before DEC . How many MNCs offer such a joining date?In many MNCs we have to wait for months to get a joinig letter...I am not saying these things to down grade other companies...But this is a true fact.. If you are placed in accenture,i can tell you that its 100% sure that you can join the firm within 4 months.. And considering all these facts, i am really proud to say that i work in accenture!!!

@Anjali : Small correction to your statement that Infy offers only half salary during the training period. The part of the salary not paid during training is paid as arrears after the completion of training. A fresher can be placed in one of the 5 pay-bands based on the training assessment. The ones in the higher bands are compensated higher than the ones in the lower bands. I would like to add that the quality of training, accommodation and facilities is one of the best offered in India at the moment. Though hectic it is a memorable and a very good learning experience.

I am a fresher and have offers from both Infy and and Accenture. I am in a big confusion as to which one to join... I hear that Infy's training is quite long and it turns out to be useless later!! and also salary increments in Infy is very low so are the promotions which are very slow!!! Is it True?? ACCENTURE IS DONKEY s!@t 1. Salary and Package Stuff: Let's take an example you are working in an organisation as a Software Engineer, you are earning 6 Lac/Annum and having experience of 3 Years in IT. You cleared Accenture interview process (which is generally a cake walk). HR will extend an offer to you. HR will make every possible try to fool you. If you ask for Senior Software Engineer (SSE) Designation, HR will say as per company policy the minimum criterion for SSE is 3.5 Years so we cannot give you. If you ask for money, let’s say 25% hike, HR will say we cannot give that because it will be beyond their standards for a Software Engineer and they cannot go against the policy, but what we can do for you as an exception is that: we can give you the same package along with Joining Bonus which is 10% of Base (60,000) and 18% of variable pay. Variable pay will be payable 2 times (after 6 months). Variable pay also depends upon performance but Accenture is known for giving 100% variable pay to their employees without any deductions. After this most of the people become the prey of HR and join Accenture, but the truth is something different. Read point 2. 2. This is true that you will get joining bonus in the first month salary. But the variable pay will be give only 8% (not 18%) for 1 year. This is based on the default rating as per Accenture. No matter how good you perform, you are not going to get your 100% variable pay. Example: Let's say you are eligible for 1 Lac Rs in 1 Year as your variable pay. You should be getting this in two parts 50,000 each (assuming you are a good performer and company is also performing well). You will be shocked to see not more than 24,000 Rs after 6 Months (you were expecting 50,000 Rs). This is company policy. HR will not tell you this at the time of joining. You will feel like cheated and surely disappointed. 3. You can find a SSE earning less than a SE and also some SSE earning more than a TL level person. Nothing at all standardised. 4. Promotions: Promotions solely depends upon your relation with your manager. Any similarity whatsoever with your good performance is purely coincidental. I have seen extremely good people having experience of 5.5 Years at SE level also. Such people are just prey of internal politics. I really feel sad for those chaps. 5. If you were on bench for some time, say 2 months, forget about variable pay. Continuing the above example you are not going to get more than 14,000 (in any case). 6. BEWARE: If you are joining Accenture, then this is highly likely that you can soon be relocated mercilessly if you remain on bench for some time. They have all rights to force you. On the day of reporting (1st day in Accenture), they will make you sign a document that states this clause. 7. Notice Period: As you might be aware that the notice period has been increased to 90 Days. The same has been done for Infosys also. The good news is, if you are under probation period, you can get out of this mess in just 30 days. :) 8. Medical Policy for Parents: Only Employee, his wife and children are Insured. If you are a bachelor and your parents are dependent on you, then sorry, Accenture is not responsible for them. You have to purchase a medical policy for your parents. 9. Accenture doesn't believe in equality. Anybody less than Team Lead level is actually less than a human being. Let me give you one example: If you are at Team Lead level or above only then you will get Car Parking stickers. Below that level, please use company transport. You are not supposed to come by car. And if you prefer to come by bike, please note Accenture has very limited parking. If tokens are not available then wait outside under the sun till the time someone goes out. 10. Onsite Opportunities: Depends project to project, but due to huge internal politics, opportunities are limited to the near and dear employees of the project manager. 11. Non-Professional behaviour by the Project Managers and TL level people. India is generally known for being very non professional and after joining Accenture, I get to know the reason behind such perception. Example: Project Manager and TL level believes in oral work related communications (in hindi language, no english please kind of work environment) rather than written. But if you do any mistakes, they will not leave any chance to escalate the matter in written. They does not hesitate using Red colour while composing such mails. This is surely against business ethics. 12. No work from home facility. This facility in only reserved for Project Manager. So, please don't ask for laptops and VPN access. Sorry. 13. Spam Mails: Expect getting approx 25 spam mails from Accenture itself that does not have anything to do with you. 14. Stationary: This Company is so poor that it will not issue you a single pencil without an online ticket that you have to raise. They call themselves as an environment friendly company that is saving papers that employees used to fill to issue stationary material. I prefer using my own stationary rather than raising new tickets. This is exactly what they want. 15. This is very small thing but you are going to miss paper towels in washrooms. Again, the answer comes: we are environment friendly company so we do not provide paper towels in washrooms. Whenever they want to save money, they say they are environment friendly. You decide. 16. Security: They don't leave any chance to harass their employees. Security Check-1: The drama starts in the morning when you reach the barrier (just before the building, near the NH-8 highway. Some illiterate, ill-mannered security guards will welcome you and pretend to check your car by looking inside the car and will smash the boot door of your loving car. Goshh!!! what a bad feeling it is... You will fell like killing him, but you cannot do anything, sad. Security Check-2: Once you cross the barrier, the same brutal treatment is waiting for your car again. Yes, another security check. Your car boot will be opened and smashed again without being looked at inside. They say they are checking for explosives. God knows how they determine without looking inside. Security Check-3: Let’s move on, park your car. On the parking exit towards the lift, you will meet one more security guard who will ask you to show your carry bag/laptop bag etc. This guy is amazing; he will unzip and zip the bag without even looking into that. Security Check-4: Once you reach your floor you will meet one more security guard that will again pretend to check your bags. I would have been more than happy if they were actually doing a security check. The fact is they are just pretending do it, wasting your time and damaging your car. Believe me, nothing more than that. 17. Cafeteria: Everything is paid. Vendors are pathetic. You will feel regretted after spending your hard earned money on the pathetic food. You will get lunch @ 45 Rs (full plate). It will be fixed quantity, no buffet system at all. Please do not dare asking for more, you will get a blunt/rude reply only. If you are coming from a product based company, you are going to miss those luxuries and good behaviour of office boys. 18. Medical Facility: In papers, every day a doctor is available from 3PM to 5 PM on weekdays. But, at the most he/she comes 2 times in a week only. 19. No AC facility in cabs. Employees have to pay directly to the cab drivers if they wish AC to be turned on. 20. Dress Code: As in many service based companies, here also you have to follow the dress code. You need to wear formals (except Friday). On Fridays, you cannot wear round neck T-Shirts. Your supervisor has all rights to fine you Rs 500 if found guilty for violating this "LAW" for the first time, if you are unlucky enough to be caught second time then you will be sent home and it will be considered as PTO (Paid Time Off). Awesome! Also, you are not supposed to wear Shirt/T-shirt bearing any corporate logo other than Accenture logo. That means, even if you are coming from Microsoft, you cannot wear a T-Shirt/Shirt having Microsoft logo or its name. 21. Oops... I forgot to tell you about HR. Accenture HR people are the most useless people in the world. There is ZERO co-ordination between them. When your interview process is going on, believe me, nobody knows where the process actually is. They will literally call you and ask you, what all rounds have been done with you. Anybody will wake up and call you from their department. In my case, after getting the offer letter, one HR called me to schedule the technical interview. Can you believe this? They don't know if the candidate has already gone through the selection process or not. I spoke to 12 different HR people during my selection process. I am sure "each" Accenture employee will agree on this without exception. 22. Long working hours (8:30 AM to 6:30 PM). People using company transport has to follow these timings, others come late generally.

I am sharing my experience in Accenture BPO Chennai. I was scheduled for the interview in the morning but the interview happed at evening. It is very shocking for me that the HR Interviewer itself doesn’t have the good communication but they rejected me for bad communication. When I questioned them on my roles and responsibility they are not in a position to explain 2 lines on my roles. I had good impression on Accenture as a company but now I have bad feeling. There are many other candidates who had experienced similar kind of experience.

Most Indian companies are same as far as benefits and work culture provided to the employees. It all depends upon your attitude of the client/managers you are dealing with. Join TCS if one has around 10+ years of experience and wants to relax a bit else it would be better to join IBM or Accenture. The work culture in TCS is little better than most other IT companies in India but the project quality is not good. As a fresher or a person with less experience one may not develop technically in TCS as most are support kind of a project. Even the variable pay is too high. TCS / IBM/ Infy/ CTS/ Wipro/HCL has good onsites opportunities compared to other companies like Accenture, Capgemini… but those good old days might not last long as visa norms are getting stricter day by day. In IBM or Accenture the project quality is good and one can develop their technical skills better. On a personal note, I would suggest working with Deloitte/ PWC any day.

I got selected in TCS BPO KOLKATA On 21st Dec. 2011.i was asked to fill up pre joining from along with conditional from by the HR.(fm),i did the same.they gave me medicel from & asked to check mail fot the Offer later. My dear Readr .. For a timebeing Its rally reads good is not it... Big company,boming place ,bilding up carrer... I returned with Lot more hope,expectetion.... But the most intarersting thing is (today on 18-01-2012.) I have not been recived offer later apart from dry/spice words of HR. I went there 3-4 times but they just said "u will get ur offer later in ur email address" .nither hr provided me any tentetive date nor hard copy of offer later! Hr is taling i need to get some authorization frow my head, thats why its taking time. If it is that so wath about other gaise who got offer later with in a weak? Does not hr answerable For that......? Later i came to know they lost some of the candidats documents. Where as this should not be spected from a company like tcs. i worked with wipro for 4 years. now i working for accenture for one year. this is a fact that accenture is adept at playing dirty games with customers and employees. i am already sent in my resignation a week ago. as all of u know friends, in india u have to give 90 days as resignation notice. now accenture is harassing every day for my decision. i know the next 3 months are going to be hell....but what to do??? please readers......be very careful of this torture company. i request all customers and freshers to do their homework carefully before taking any decision.

Woww.. nice thread to read if you are free. I did not see any mention of Cognizant here, so let me tell about it. I joined CTS as fresher in blore and worked for around 3.5yrs and then joined a small company here. I am again looking for a change and has got IBM services, Accenture, infy in hand. When i was in CTS, i was never happy with its compensation. was always blaming the company and its policies. but let me tell you, after leaving the company and doing lots of R&D on other companies, I can say Cogni was very much better than any service company mentioned here. as they say :- the grass is always green on the other side, CTS gave lots of opportunities, learning and onsite. they ve got very flexible policies. no one couts check in check out time, u dont have to even come to office if you are in bench. work timings are flexible. your mgr does not bother you for coming late as long as you finish your work on time. ppl are very friendly. great onsite(i went twice on short ter to US when i was 3yrs exp).felt even the pay is as good as any other IT service companies(if not more). The best part, they never cheat with the variable pay. if they say 40K is your variable, you are atleast assured of around 50K as your varialbe(it might go to 80K for top performers). Really repenting the day I quite Cogni. BTW do not understand this unprofessional nature of Accenture : I cleared their interview around 1.5 months back. after two weeks they asked me to send all the docs soft copy. and then there is abolutely no reply from them. and I got to know that accenture does lot of this thing. if we call us, they say there are not many opening for your skillset in your location. I dont understand why did they conduct the interview then.

Working in small companies is BEST , rather than working in big MNC's like TCS , Accenture etc....You will enjoy the work ,learn more and grow sooner .

Sh*tventure management never misses a chance 2 screw their own employees even if they know they are of no competition. This slave master culture makes anyone wanna puke !!! The constant intimidation and cronyism is blatant abuse of company policy. But on hindsight the policy itself was created to be broken. I advise all potential employees freshers and experienced to stay away from this joke called Misadventure (accenture).

I am part of IBM since 2007 and I can say IBM is the best company to work If you really work hard. You will get what you wants. I got 7 times good salary hike . I do work from Home at the experience of 5 years and I am doing same since last 3 years. Here there is no In time or out time. No buddy will monitor you like a dog. Its your freedom .I have never missed any family function since last 5 years . I take complete leaves . What I am getting today in IBM is well above what Indian MNC like Infy/wipro/ TCS is paying. Every year I do 10-12 days training that very costly at out side IBM at the expense of IBM. which would be costing IBM at least 1.5 L. In IBM I have done 4 certification which together cost 60-70 K which was paid by IBM. Knowledge wise great place .. So If you work hard IBM is great place to be....Your salary would be much more than what Indian MNC pays. I mean to say If you are top rater you will get good hike.

Think out of the box... I advise people specially youngsters like me to work in MNC then start your own business. Trust me if today your package is 8Lac per annual and if you put same rigor in your business then 8lac could be your monthly salary... Its just a matter of taking risk... Im going to do this in coming days!! So no more fear of bosses, politics and back stabbing... Create good environment for others like us.....

whichever the organization it depends on the individuals.If a person don't have talent and don't want to work will complaint bad lot about his organization.And also if his boss don't have talent then he would be satisfied and he claims that their organization is good.Some organizations puposefully make the bosses less talented and so obtaining more work from the subordinates. See finally no employee of these company is inferior while comparing a man who sells piece of toys or cloths at the sides of roads for his daily food.

Hello All, I am about to complete almost two yrs in IBM in SAP Basis . Since I am B Tech in Electronics from NIT , and are more eager to do work in electronics companies. Needless to say that not much good electronics jobs are in India, so I worked in SAP. Now i want to change my technology. My first preference is to get jobs in electronics companies like Texas, Intel, Xilinx ; and if not get a good opportunity then will want to go in development projects. please advise me on my decision. Note : All say that development and coding is always better than SAP Basis support. Is it ?

Hi, I worked with Accenture for more than 5yrs and my suggestion is below 1) Don't join Accenture IDC if ur not from Bhramin community. Most of the senior executives (80%) and senior managers are from that community and they will support you only if ur from that community. 2) HRs are just PA to Senior managers and Senior executives. 3) Sexual harassment is very high. I know many female resource left Accenture because of this reason. 4) I don't have experience with TCS or IBM but, other than Accenture HR no one will ask proof for sexual harassment. (you should have mail proof, of Video proof). Accenture HR and Senior executives or Senior managers don't have time to attend such issues. 5) Most of the senior executives and managers in IDC chennai are dirty politicians. 6) In Accenture it is easy to get appreciation if your from good community no need to prove ur skills. 7) I agree very few senior executives are also in the same Accenture but they don't have power or they don't want to involve in such politics. 8) The above points are from my own experience. 9) Don't join Accenture if your not good in dirty politics.

Last week I have cleared TCS interview.Its truly disgusting after clearing everything and wasting entire day they are offering very less pay around 6.I really dont understand why they are conducting interviews first of all when they cant give as per the current market price.Just want to ask all the HR's working in IT companies- Are you paying from your pockets or we are asking from your salary that you try to negotiate at the time of offering a job and then say we can pay this much only according to company policies.Please don't go for TCS its a wastage of your time.

yes i agree. i am from wipro. it is full of TORTURE. i used to work for another company. i do not want to tell abt it more, it was worse :s............a stupid wannabe it company named acc*nture. all IT companies in india treat engineers like sh*t. did we study 4 years for this? small time businessmen earn more than us. why? bcoz of black money. friends start ur bujiness however small, there is a start for anythin. do not be scared. i will not work anymore for gutter masters anymore.
