hi guys, im a IT professional and work for AVG and i really liked that you like our job but the truth is that we don't develop it all by ourselves. Well, there is a reason why McAfee and norton are called bad or not good. the real thing is that we steal from them

Basicly avg is the way to go! its new 9.0 free edition is perfect! free! easy to use! and reliable with quick updates and a hard virus vault to stop those nasty viruses and infections, the size of avg is much smaller than the rest and wont slow down your system !

I had the same problem...my pc was infected while AVG was in operation. I bought Kaspersky 2009 and it worked very well except it will totally delete your folder when/if infected and the folder will not open unless you use the back way approach and the folder which will be hidden after K has dealt with it, will take up your memory space. Weird approach. I look forward to trying out Norton 2010

So AVG is supposedly ranked No 1 that hasn't been my experience at all. I have used AVG for the past 4 years and watched it steadily become more gimmicky and resource heavy. V 8.0 - 8.5 came with numerous problems particularly with updating and database errors. The most recent being the last few days when V 8.5 basically stopped working the databases required updating and couldnt be updated and various components became inactive. AVG's response to my request for assistance was to uninstall V8.5 and install V9.0. Easier said than done /I spent in excess of 16 hours trying to uninstall V8.5 and install V.90. When I finally had it sorted I discovered that in the process of doing so it had wiped my Email Inbox (Mozilla Thunderbird) It took me another 3 hours to resolve that issue thanks to a little help from various posts on the net I was able to restore it. I received no assistance from AVG Technical Support on these issues at all other than being told to install V9.0. The support is just not good enough and the product has become like others available top heavy on no essentials. I couldn't recommend it.

Kaspersky is the best.... I had Norton, it bugged my PC, then I changed to McAfee, It was fine, then AVG, damn poor protection. Then ESET, worked gr8, but had less protection, Then quickheal, Awesome protection and now KIS, best of all

avast is the best anitivirus...it's full-featured...it has great malware detection compare with avg...it's light unlike avg that slows down your pc..with the speed avast is fastest...

Nod32 should top this list. And Mcfee should be last. I wonder why Toshiba laptops come with the mcfee, its pretty bogus. Nod32 on the other hand is very fast and light on the machine.
