I'm also assuming that since you were too stupid to figure this out, you also don't know that alpha software is supposed to be unstable because its in its beginning stages. If all my assumptions are wrong and you are indeed on a linux software, I would like to suggest you install cmake to compile it (make usually wont cut it) OR just download a deb file. Not that hard to get it working, and it has limitless possibilities (you cant sync your ipod's music with vlc and vice versa yet you can do it with banshee) Don't be so quick to judge, a$$h%^e.

Actually, I do agree with Devin. Banshee is very good. Sometimes, it does crash and I'm not sure it plays as many formats as VLC (since I'm new to Ubuntu) but it is pretty cool. And yeah! VLC can't sync to devices like iPod. But VLC looks better and is skinnable. Winamp can get a life!
